House panel submits interim report on Rajiv Rahadari

A Legislative Committee constituted to probe into irregularities in the construction of Rajiv Rahadari , which covered five districts of Telangana, submitted its interim report on Saturday to legislative Council chairman Chakarapani.

The committee headed by Bhanuprasada Rao observed various issues like too many curves, pre-bidding, tenders and quality standards.

The House panel had announced that it found some lapses in the construction. The committee sought three more months to complete its report on the road project. It is alleged that there were many curves on the road leading to number of accidents. People had filed petitions against the way the road was being constructed requesting the government to conduct an enquiry into the project.
