Former Minister Ella Reddy passes away

Senior politician and former minister Elkote Ellareddy passed away on Tuesday. He was 82 and is survived by 4 sons, two of whom are active politicians.

Ellareddy, who hailed from a poor agricultural family, rose in the ranks and became an active politician. He became an MLA from Makthal in Mahabubnaar in 1994. During the TDP's split, he backed Chandrababu Naidu and became a minister in 1977. He was the minister for marketing. He was re-elected to the assembly in 1999 and also in 2009. However, during the last assembly elections, she shifted to TRS and lost to the Congress in Makthal constituency.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR expressed deep condolences at the death of Ella Reddy. Former MLA Shiva Prasad also expressed shock at the death of the leader.
