The riots happened over a dispute on Bhagyalakshmi temple. A total of seven cases have been booked against Ghouse by the police which was subsequently given to SIT.

The ex-corporator obtained bail in six cases but was arrested in the seventh case. The SIT officials booked Ghouse under sections 147, 149, 333 and 353 of IPC.

“Ghouse has been arrested in on one of the seven cases and has been sent to judicial custody in Chanchalguda jail,” said Avinash Mohanty, DCP of Central Crime Station.

Meanwhile, Ghouse associates allege the arrest as a political vendetta following his separation from MIM.
