Top 3 Movies At Tamil Nadu Box Office In 2018  

2018 has been a fantastic year for Tamil films in terms of box office collections. If you take a look at these movies which were released in the latter part of the year- Vijay's Sarkar, Rajinikanth's 2.0 and Kaala, they have registered unbelievable numbers at the ticket windows. Sarkar, 2.0 and Kaala were the highest grossing Tamil films in 2018.

Sarkar: Vijay's Sarkar has done terrific business at the box office. The movie opened in the second half of this year when Tamil Industry badly needed a hit. Sarkar came as a huge relief and with a bang to set the box office on fire. According to sources, Sarkar went on to earn a gross collection of Rs 250 crores approximately at the box office worldwide. Sarkar was directed by AR Murugadoss and starred Keerthy Suresh in the female lead role.

2.0: Rajinikanth's 2.0 was a sequel to Enthiran aka Robot which released way back in 2010. 2point0 set a new benchmark in India cinema for upcoming movies which we guess won't be easy as it is tough to beat Rajini's record. 2.0 is one of the expensive Indian films ever made and turned out to be the second highest in Indian cinema after Baahubali 2. The movie has raked in Rs 700 Cr at the box office. Akshay Kumar played the villain's role and made his debut in Tamil with 2.0. Amy Jackson featured as the leading lady in the movie.

Kaala: This mass entertainer was the second-time collaboration of Rajinikanth with Pa Ranjith. Earlier, the duo delivered Kabali which didn't fare well at the box office. With Kaala, they have added another hit in their kitty. Kaala made a lifetime collection of Rs 150.40 Crores approximately at the worldwide box office.
