DataWind Offers Smartphone for Rs.1,499 With Linux OS, 1 Year Free Browsing
Hyderabad: Electronic Manufacturer ‘Datawind’ has launched “PocketSurfer GZ” in India for Rs 1,499 only. The company is also offering free internet browsing on the device for a year in partnership with Reliance Communication. The device ships with the Linux Operating System. There are no details on specifications as of now.
Suneet Singh Tulli, CEO of DataWind said, “Hands-free communication has become extremely important and we feel strongly that this technology should reach every corner of the world. DataWind aims to breaks the affordability barriers and bandwidth constraints of networks touching the mass of India at a whole new level.”
The handset maker is known for making low cost devices, including mobile phones and tablets. DataWind is one of the leading manufacturers in the low cost device segment.
