Hyderabad Teen Kills Herself Over Phone Usage Restrictions

Hyderabad: A teenager killed herself in Hyderabad on Monday after being "counselled" by her parents for excessive use of mobile phone.

The 19-year-old girl Shravani was getting counselled by her mother following which she committed suicide.

"Today evening, a 19-year-old old girl, Shravani, committed suicide after being counselled by her mother for excessive use of mobile phone," a police oficer at Panjagutta police station told a news agency.

A case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed. The body has been sent to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.

"A case is being registered under Section 174 CrPC, the exact reason will be known only after the investigation is completed," he was quoted saying.
