Man Posts Confession Video On Family Whatsapp Group After Killing Wife, Kid 

Ghaziabad (UP): An engineer killed his wife and three children in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad allegedly failing to meet his financial needs.

Sumit Kumar (34) killed his wife Ashnu Bala (32), son Permesh (5), and twins Akriti (4) and Aru (4) by administering them sleeping pills in some liquid. He posted a confession video in the family's WhatsApp group and is on the run, police said.

He also said in the video that he was going to kill himself and had purchased potassium cyanide for the purpose.

The incident came to light on Sunday evening in Gyan Khand area of Indirapuram locality bordering Delhi.

Superintendent of Police, City, Shlok Kumar said that Sumit was in dire economic straits after losing his job in Bengaluru in January this year and this may have been the reason for the crime.

The forensic team's primary investigation suggests the incident occurred early on Sunday but came to light at about 8 p.m., the SP said, adding that the bodies have been sent for autopsy and investigations are on.

The bodies of victims were sent for post-mortem and the police filed an FIR after the victim’s brother filed a complaint.

Sumit Kumar was booked under section 302 (murder) of IPC.
