In-laws Harassment Drives Hydernagar Woman To Suicide

Hyderabad: A 30-year old woman commits suicide after she faced harassment by her in-laws at KBHP on Friday. In 2017, the victim Meghana (30) who was working as a software engineer in TCS got married to Kothapalli Vinay Kumar (32), a resident of Hydernagar.

Six months into the marriage, the in-laws harassed her asking for a divorce. She then went to her parents and stayed there for over a year and a half. On Thursday, Vinay sent a divorce notice to Meghna which got her into a depression. She then went to her In-laws house at Bhavyas Akhila Apartment in Hydernagar, where she was restricted from coming in.

Meghna then told the security that she was there to visit her relatives; she went up to the ninth floor, kept her helmet and bag aside and jumped off the building.

Her body was sent to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. SI Veeresham registered a case and launched an investigation.
