Vizianagaram: A murder case over a suspected extramarital affair recently came to light in Kunambandavalasa village ,Pachimpeta Mandal in Vizainagaram district.

Pachimpeta SI Sanyasi Naidu and CI Iliyas Ahmed shared the details.Chokkapu Bodayya a resident of Kunambandavalasa was killed by his cousin Chokkapu Kannayya as he suspected that Bodayya was having an extramarital affair with his wife.

Bodayya who was working in Eluru had come home for the festival and on January 8 as he was heading back home, he was accosted by Kannayya near an orchard near Thotavalasa . Kannayya warned him and told him to leave his wife alone and they both ended up having a fight. Kannayya who had already come prepared with a rod ,attacked him. He hit Bodayya on the head resulting in his death after which Kannayya left the place and went back to the village.

Police had registered a case of suspicious death and recently as part of the investigation informed the locals that a dog squad was going to be brought to identify the killer and upon hearing this, a terrified Bodayya came and confessed to the local VRO on Sunday. Based on the VRO information Police arrested Bodayya and also recovered the rod used to commit the crime.
