Devarakonda: A married woman died under suspicious circumstances on Saturday at PA Palli mandal. According to the victim's relatives, Munavat Srinu and Mangi, a farmer couple, were married 13 years ago and had two children.

Srinu was an alcoholic and always used to argue with his wife. On Saturday, after sending children to the school, she went for agricultural work. She was later found dead in the fields. The victim's relatives alleged that Mangi's husband and her in-laws strangled the victim.

The police learned of the matter and reached the spot and collected the details. Later, they shifted the body to Devarakonda government hospital for post-mortem. Based on a complaint given by the victim's relatives, the police filed a case of suspicious death and started probing the matter. The relatives demanded severe action against the accused.

Recently, in a similar incident, a mentally unstable man named Srinivas living in Santhimula village, Patavala Panchayathi in East Godavari district, killed his sister-in-law Madhavi (25) . According to Koringi SI Sumanth, Srinivas, who had turned alcoholic after his wife left him, was heavily drunk that day and was walking back home.

His brother Sathaynarayana's wife Madhavi was washing dishes on the road. Upon seeing her, he got into a fight saying that she was obstructing the road. Both of them got into a fist fight and he hit her hard on the head with a stick that was lying nearby and she died instantly. Madhavi and Satyanarayana have two children aged four and 15 months. Srinivas was taken into custody and police are investigating the matter.
