Man Kills Cousin For Affair With Wife

Kuravi (Dornakal): An extra-Marital relationship led to a man's death. The accused killed his cousin with a sickle for having an extramarital affair with his wife. The incident happened on Sunday at Narayanapuram in Kuravi Mandal, Mahabubabad district.

According to eye-witnesses and police, Banothu Bhadru married Nagamani and both are from Kotha Thanda. Bhadru's cousin Maloth Linganna (25) got involved in an extramarital relationship with Nagamani. Bhadru learned of the matter and decided to kill him. On Sunday during Ganesh immersion, Bhadru came to know that Linganna was in the crowd. He knocked him down with a sickle and fled the scene.

Local villagers found Linganna injured and shifted him to Manukota area hospital on a bike. There he succumbed to severe head injuries. Bhadru later surrendered to the Kuravi police.

Banothu Bhadru was first married to Sevari who later opted for divorce. Then he married Saroja but she died after giving birth to three sons. Nagamani is his third wife. His cousin Malothu Linganna is a farmer who works on a part-time basis as a car driver. For two years, Linganna has been in an extramarital relationship with Nagamani and both Bhadru and Linganna fought several times over the issue.

Bhadru also sought the intervention of village elders who fined him Rs 10,000 for the crime. After a week, Nagamani left for her hometown. Bhadru learned that Nagamani and Linganna were in a live-in relationship and an enraged Bhadru decided to kill his cousin. On Sunday, he murdered Linganna on the main road.

Earlier, two criminal cases have been filed against Linganna for taking five lakh rupees to kill a man. And also took three lakh rupees and killed a man under Nutankal police station limits.

On Monday, the local police officials visited the spot and started investigation. They collected the details from eye witnesses. Based on the complaint given by the victim's father, the police started probing the case, They handed over the body to the family members after the autopsy.
