AP Engineering Students Rape Girl, Film Act After Spiking Drink

Andhra Pradesh police charged three former students of an engineering college for allegedly raping, filming the act and using the video to blackmail a junior for more than a year. The two principal accused, Siva Reddy and Krishna Vamsi, are reported to have been students of the engineering college at Agiripalli.

The incident came to light after the victim, accompanied by her parents, approached the Agiripalli police and lodged a complaint. Police stated that as per the complaint, the crime took place in February 2017, when two seniors, the main accused, allegedly spiked a drink she was having at a birthday party. They are then alleged to have raped her and filmed the act.

The victim, according to the police, was allegedly being blackmailed by a third student,  Praveen, who claimed to be in possesion of a copy of video and reportedly demanded sexual favours.

The girl informed her father who lodged a police complaint, according to the cops.

Police have registered a case under sections 376, 376-B and 354 of IPC, apart from sections of the IT Act against the 3 students. Police have sent the victim for a medical examination and are investigating the case.
