Man Rapes Step-Daughter in Balapur

Hyderabad: A 36-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for raping his 11-year-old step-daughter. The incident which took place under Balapur police station limits has sent shockwaves in the area.

According to police inspector Saidulu, the victim's mother who was abandoned by her husband married the accused Fayaz after she faced difficulty in looking after her four kids. Fayaz who is an ayurvedic doctor raped the wife's elder daughter when she was sleeping alone in her room on June 24.

When the girl's mother picked up a quarrel with her husband on the issue, he thrashed her and the kids and locked them up in a room. However, the woman who managed to escaped from him lodged a complaint with the Balapur police.

The police registered a case under POSCO act and detained Fayaz.
