What exactly happened between Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh in slapgate?

IPL has given wings to many struggling players and has also become a battleground for many others, igniting many controversies. Cricket fans can never forget one particular incident which took place during an IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in 2008.

Incidentally, this was also the first edition of the successful series. Harbhajan the team India off spinner, slapped fast bowler and fellow-player from the Indian team, Sreesanth.

In a bewildering confession former cricketer Sreesanth, who is currently participating in Bigg Boss season 12, has opened up about the slapping issue.

Bigg Boss house was turned into a newsroom and one of the housemates Surbhi Rana took up the role of a reporter. She asked Sreesanth about the slap-gate controversy. However, shocking everyone, the former cricketer revealed that Harbhajan never slapped him but only tried to hit him with the back of his hand. He added that the reason behind his tears was because of his helpless state at the moment.

The footage of Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth was never found, though people watching the match did witness a fierce Harbhajan and an emotional Sreesanth breaking down, on the TV screen after Kings XI Punjab won against Mumbai Indians. While Harbhajaan admitted to being aggressive, he also stated that he never actually hit Sressanth and now it appears, the statement made by the bowler was true.
