At the end of the third day of the recently concluded first Test in Edgbaston, England star pacer James Anderson said that the English team would go to bed that night, dreaming about Indian captain Virat Kohli's dismissal first thing on the following day. Indian batsmen had five wickets in hand, with an achievable target of scoring 84 runs for victory. Into an hour's play on the fourth day, Virat was caught before the wickets, after missing a regulation shot to mid-wicket against England all-rounder Ben Stokes.
Although India appeared to have a saviour in the form of Hardik Pandya, he couldn't manage to get us past the target, as the Indian lineup fell 31 runs short of the required target. After Virat struck a century in the first innings, he fell just after scoring a half-century in the second innings, making a contribution of 50% of the aggregate runs on India's scoreboard.
