Lucknow: In what seems to be a most embarrassing moment for the Congress leadership, a Congress leader in Meerut town of Uttar Pradesh posted a WhatsApp images calling Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi calling 'Pappu'. The posts went viral prompting the Congress leadership to take disciplinary action against him.

Initially, Congress leader Vinay Pradhan hailed Rahul for visiting farmers who were staging protest in Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh. Interestingly, he called Rahul Gandhi Pappu saying that Pappu had never took part in lavish parties thrown by industrialists like Adani and Ambani since he understands that these businessmen would exploit the common people’s resources.

Later, the Congress leader refuted the allegations and said that it was a conspiracy hatched by some people against him to malign his image. He said that he had never disrespected Rahul Gandhi. Vinay Pradhan said that the WhatsApp posts that have been circulating on the social media were photo-shopped.

Meanwhile, the Congress top brass confirmed the action against the Congress leader. He was relieved of all the posts as part of the disciplinary measures.
