Cong ignoring Chiru: Ramachandraiah says again

Minister for Endowments C Ramachandraiah is at it again. He found the sacred Hills of Indrakeeladri in the politically sensitive Vijayawada city to be a perfect venue to air his grievance that erstwhile Praja Rajyam Party president and now Rajya Sabha member of the Congress Chiranjeevi is being ignored by the party bosses.

Ramachandraiah even predicted that the Congress will be wiped out of the political scene in the State if Chiranjeevi is not given due importance in the party.

Whenever reports emanate from Delhi that the Union Cabinet reshuffle is on the cards, it has become a practice for Ramachandraiah to open his mind that Chiranjeevi is being ignored by the Congress. This time he did not stop at that.

With speculation being rife that exercise has begun to fill various nominated posts in the State, the Endowments Minister wants erstwhile PRP leaders be given top priority. In fact, he wanted all the important posts in the category be filled with the then PRP functionaries and he meant that the Congress leaders can be considered for insignificant posts.

He is of the firm opinion that only then the Congress will romp home in the next elections. Otherwise, the party, which is already facing a tough task in the State, will lose the battle in the next elections.

This is not for the first time that Ramachandraiah is voicing such remarks. At least on a couple of occasions earlier, he said that Chiranjeevi is being totally ignored by the Congress. Talking to a popular news channel at Kadapa, his home town and the headquarters of YSR district, a couple of months ago the Endowments Minister had even remarked that the PRP leaders, including Chiranjeevi are deeply regretting for having merged the PRP unconditionally with the Congress.

Both the times there were rumors of a possible Union Cabinet rejig. Hence, and as is its wont, the Congress did not respond to the allegations and this time too the party leaders are expected to ignore this.
