Hyderabad: The visit of two very prominent persons--Advisor to US President, Ivanka Trump and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi-- to the city on Tuesday passed off without any hiccup. But the police had a tough time providing security to Ivanka and Modi. As the VIP's itinerary included a trip to Taj Falaknuma Palace in the Old City, the security aspects proved to be challenging for the Hyderabad police. This, after the Telangana Government had deployed 10,000 personnel to provide security cover.

To add to their woes, the city police received a bomb threat when the Modi-Ivanka dinner was underway at the Taj Falaknuma Hotel on Tuesday night. Several agencies were taking care of the security of the dignitaries and a US security force was specifically deployed for the security of Ivanka Trump. Yet, the call made the city police jittery and the department deployed all their resources to detect the bomb, as also trace the caller. And all this very quietly without causing any commotion or drawing the attention of the distinguished guests.

The police kept the bomb threat a top secret and carried out their operations in a hush hush manner. The call was received at the DGP's office and it was made using the internet voice call. The police left no stone unturned to check if the bomb threat was true. But finally they heaved a huge sigh of relief when it turned out to be a hoax.

The North Zone DCP Satyanarayana said they identified the caller as one Ellaiah (60) of Lalaguda in Secunderabad, who has a mental disorder. After questioning the caller, police came to the conclusion that he is suffering from an acute mental condition and shifted him to a hospital.
