Bison on prowl kills one, shot dead

A bison which created rampage and killed one farmer and attacked several others was shot dead at last by police personnel on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the rural mandal of Palwoncha in Khammam district. 

According to reports, Jalagam Ranga Rao (55), a farmer tried to drive away the bison which was grazing in his field with the help of his brother. In retaliation, the bison mowed him down with its sharp horns by hitting from the backside, while he was returning home after some time. On hearing the news, some villagers, who tried to catch it, were also injured. The police personnel reached the village and shot two rounds and killed the bison after taking special permission from the Superintendent of Police of Khammam.
