Tirumala| Fire Accident In Boondi Potu Kitchen

TIRUMALA: Fire Accident in Tirumala Laddu Making Unit (Boondi Potu) on Sunday afternoon. Fire broke out inside the Boondi potu located on the northern side of Tirumala temple triggering panic among devotees who were in the vicinity of the temple for darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy.

Huge flames were seen coming out from the place followed by dark smoke billowing out of the kitchens. No casualties were reported as all the staff working in the kitchen had come out of the kitchen. Huge quantities of ghee, besan flour and other food items are used to make the famed Tirumala laddus. The laddus are made in conditions of very high temperatures and since ghee, which is, inflammable could have added to the fire breaking out.

Fire engines have been rushed to the place and the fire fighting staff are in the process of putting out the fire.
