Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with Tourism and Culture department officials on Friday in his residence at Tadepalli in Guntur district.

The AP government had already identified 15 to 20 places where there is a scope to develop tourism and YS Jagan ordered officials to develop these places
with world-class amenities. He further added that AP should be developed as the best tourist state in India.

The CM instructed the officials to develop tourism in the state and to set up a cultural academy in every district, he accepted the tourism officials' request over setting up of Archaeological Corporation in AP to preserve the historical memories of the State.

He extended his support to the families who are living through their handicraft art and asked the officials to provide financial help to artists from Kondapalli, Etikoppaka and Kalamkari villages.

Responding to the suggestions of AP CM the officials have expressed their views over developing tourism at Suryalanka, Horsely hills, Orvakal and Gandikota

YS Jagan further instructed them to establish Gandikota Adventure Academy, a glass bridge on river and construction of ropeways at tourism places.

YS Jagan stressed out the need to develop tourism in the water catchment areas of the state like Polavaram, Pulichintala, Nagarjuna Sagar, Srisailam, Somashila, Kandaleru, Araku, Lambasingi, Paderu, and few other dams.

He advised the officials to construct a sports complex in every district and every school should have sports ground. Jagan approved the establishment of cricket stadiums with international standards in Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Amaravati, and Tirupati.

YS Jagan assures that YSRCP is ready to provide financial assistance to sportspersons who get selected for national and international level competitions.

Tourism, Archaeology and Youth Affairs Minister Muthamsetty Srinivas and higher officials of the department were present at the meeting.

These are the list of tourism spots in AP: Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam,Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Polavaram, Suryalanka, Horsley Hills, Orvakal, Gandikota, Pulichinthala, Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Srisailam, Somasila and Kandaleru Dam. AP government to take measures to improve the tourism facilities in Araku, Lambasingi, Padaru, Maredumilli.
