Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government's prestigious recruitment drive for AP Grama / Ward Secretariat employees posts has received tremendous response from eligible youth of the state, according to the Commissioner for Panchayat Raj, Girija Shankar. While it is known that the last date for applications was August 11, the official told media persons on Tuesday that the government would fill up 1,33,000 posts across the state.

About 22.73 lakh candidates have applied for these posts. Each village secretariat would have a staff strength of 11 employees, he stated. He also added that 31,000 employees would be nominated by the municipal administration department.

AP Grama Sachivalaya exam schedule

The examinations for recruitment to Andhra Pradesh grama sachivalaya volunteers would begin on September 1 and continue for a week, according to the official. He further stated that exam papers would be given in both Telugu as well as English. Further, he clarified that papers relating to technical subjects would be in English alone. Girija Shankar pointed out that 12,50,000 candidates would write the exam on the first day in about 6,000 examination centres. The government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that there are no mal-practices by putting in place CCTV and video coverage of the exams. Merit will be the sole criterion for selection, he added.

AP Grama Sachivalaya Volunteers Exam Hall Tickets

The Sachivalaya Volunteers Exam Hall Tickets can be downloaded from August 22. There would be 150 questions in the question paper to be valued for 150 marks. Negative marking would also be applicable, said the official. For every four mistakes, the candidate would lose 1 mark.

The official also stated that the exams would be conducted jointly by Panchayati Raj and Municipal administration departments. He added that employees working in various departments have been given a weightage of 10% and that selected candidates will have to reside in the area of posting. The official said that villages and wards would be assigned based on priorities listed by the candidates.

He added that those who try to cheat candidates in the name of getting them jobs would face criminal action.
