Village Secretariats A Revolutionary Measure In Grassroot Administration: YS Jagan

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed happiness that due to the blessings and strength given by the people the State government was able to fill up 1,33,494 permanent jobs and in total they planned to fill up another 4,01 lakh jobs . This was a record of sorts in the Telugu states, YS Jagan tweeted on Saturday.

He mentioned that the State government planned a revolutionary change in the way administration at the grass root level by constituting Village Secretariats and appointing Village Volunteers. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the State Government would appoint village volunteers to ensure corruption-free delivery of welfare schemes. Under this plan, as many as four lakh youth would be provided with government jobs. Each village volunteer would have to take care of delivering welfare schemes to 50 households for a monthly salary of Rs 5,000.

A committee was formed to finalise the recruitment process and examine the establishment of village secretariat system on Friday.The committee will be helmed by principal secretary of panchayat raj and rural development. The other members include secretary of municipal administration and urban development, secretary of agriculture/horticulture, secretary to social welfare,commissioner of panchayat raj, commissioner and director of municipal administration and additional director of law and order.
