Three Of A Family Killed As Car Hits Road Divider In Guntur

Guntur: In a tragic road mishap, three people, hailing from Kukatpally in Hyderabad were killed in the district on Saturday.

As per the details, the mishap occurred when the victims were travelling to visit Kamakshi temple in Jonnawada of Nellore district on Saturday morning. Two families from Kukatpally were traveling in a car when it collided with the divider near Santhagudipadu village of Rompicharla of Guntur district. The vehicle then plunged into the fields.

A total of seven persons were travelling in an Innova car at the time of accident. Three persons succumbed to death on the spot while four others sustained serious injuries. Police who were alerted of the accident rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital for treatment. The deceased were identified as Gopi Krishna, his wife Sujatha and his relative, Vijay Kumar.

The injured were identified as Vijay Kumar's wife Thirupathamma, daughter-in-law Poojitha, son Chaitanya and driver Vineeth, who are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The police suspect that the driver of the vehicle may have fallen asleep which resulted in the mishap. The bodies were shifted to Narasaraopet government hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered and the police are investigating.
