
1. Kaleshwaram Inauguration: YS Jagan Unveils Plaque
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao officially inaugurated the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) at Medigadda in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Friday. The official launching of the Godavari lift irrigation project was done by switching on the sixth Motor pump at 12.30 ,near Medigadda barrage in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
2. Private schools also want Amma Vodi scheme cover
The decision of the state government to limit Amma Vodi scheme to government schools only has led to a rise in the enrolment into government and zilla parishad schools by new students. Private schools, meanwhile, are worried over the situation and the government decision since many of their students have taken transfer certificates to join government schools.
3. AP hands over Secretariat buildings to Telangana
The process of Andhra Pradesh government handing over office blocks in the Secretariat complex here to Telangana was completed on Thursday with AP officials formally relinquishing the possession of J and L Blocks. A letter to this effect was handed over to Telangana General Administration Department (GAD) official Chitti Rani by GAD officials from AP on Thursday.
4. Central Park, Vims likely to be named after YSR
Tourism minister Muttamsetti Srinivas has said that Visakhapatnam City Central Park and Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (Vims) will be named after former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. Mr Srinivas reviewed various issues with the district officials at the Collector’s office in Vizag on Thursday.
5. Anantapur: Doctors blamed for death of infant
Mild tension prevailed for some time at the labour ward of the general hospital here on Thursday when the relatives of a pregnant woman alleged that negligence of the doctors led to the death of the infant. They staged a protest against the negligence of the hospital staff in providing immediate medical aid to the pregnant woman who was admitted in advanced labour pains. The pregnant woman delivered but the infant died soon after.
