Midday Meal Women Helpers’ Salary Hiked

Vishakapatnam: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that the salaries of midday meal scheme helpers to be hiked from existing Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 a month.

Midday meal scheme women staff, whose primary responsibility is to cook, met YS Jagan in Vishakapatnam during his visit to the city to seek the blessings of seers at Sharadapeetam. He assured them that none from 85,000 staffers would be removed from the services in wake of Akshaya Patra Foundation taking over the project. The ecstatic staffers of the midday meal scheme thanked YS Jagan profusely and their joy knew no bounds.

The Chief Minister also increased the honorarium paid to ASHA workers from current Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000 a month just a day ago.
