1. TV9 Ravi Prakash Booked

The Telangana Police on Thursday raided TV9 office and its CEO Ravi Prakash’s residence in Hyderabad for allegedly cheating and forging a signature of one of the directors of Alanda Media and Entertainment Private Limited. The entertainment firm had recently taken over TV9.

2. AP Minister Steps Down

Andhra Pradesh Health and Tribal Welfare Minister Kidari Sravan resigned on Thursday. He sent his resignation to Governor ESL Narasimhan through Chief Minister’s Office. His resignation became imminent as he is not elected to Legislative Assembly or Council.

3. APSRTC Employees To Go On Strike

The Road Transportation Corporation employees in AP have issued a list of 76 demands to the State government on Thursday. Employee associations said the strike will begin any moment after May 22 if their demands are not met.

4. AP POLYCET Results Declared

The State government on Thursday released POLYCET-2019 results, required for admissions into polytechnic colleges. Candidates can download the rank cards online. The counseling will be held from May 24, and classes will begin on June 6.

5. Telangana Congress for postponing MLC Polls

Telangana Congress President Uttam Kumar Reddy urged the Election Commission of India to postpone MLC elections under local body quota in the State. He said the list of voters from local bodies was not yet available to conduct polls.

6. Kaloji Health University Slashes NEET Cut-Off

The Kaloji Health University in Telangana on Thursday decreased the cut-off marks required by medical aspirants in the NEET exam. This comes in the wake of Centre recently bringing the cut-off by six percentile. A notification to this effect is already released, and aspirants can apply for the same from May 10 to May 12.

7. Another Woman Raped, Murdered in Yadadri

Days after Hajipur horror that created ripples, a middle-aged woman was brutally raped and killed in Venkatapur village in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district. The victim Karre Anuradha, who had been running a toddy shop locally, was a single woman. The criminals fled away with jewellery and cash after killing her.

8. Sangareddy Abducted Infant Traced

The new-born baby which went missing from a hospital in Sangareddy two days ago was traced by police in Sivanagar in Kamareddy. The baby was kidnapped by another couple whose new-born baby had died soon after its birth. CCTV footage helped the police to trace the couple which sped away on a bike after kidnapping the infant.

9. Heat Wave In Telangana For Next Three Days

With temperatures soaring, weathermen said that severe heat wave would be expected in next three days across Telangana. Temperatures across the State have touched at least 42 degree Celsius. Mathani in Peddapalli district recorded a sizzling 47 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

10.Sunstroke Claims Eight Lives in East Godavari

In last three days in East Godavari, eight persons died of sunstroke. While on Monday four people died of simmering heat, one person died on Tuesday. Another three lost their lives due to sun stroke on Thursday. East Godavari has been recording 45 degrees Celsius and above.
