Telugu Desam Party founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao's wife, Lakshmi Parvathi held the present Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu responsible for the former not being conferred with a Bharat Ratna.

In an interview to India Today, Lakshmi Parvathi said that NTR was never awarded the Bharat Ratna as Chandrababu Naidu never recommended his name for the honour.

She said that the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee himself shared with her that the state government never wrote a single letter to the Central government recommending NTR's name.

As Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming movie Lakshmi's NTR is gearing up for release, she said that the movie would have an impact on the upcoming Lok Sabha polls with the people of Andhra Pradesh finally facing the truth.

Chandrababu had been under immense scrutiny ever since TDP decided to ally with the Congress party since the TDP founder NT Rama Rao founded the party as a rival to Congress.

Speaking in this regard, Lakshmi Parvathi said that NTR would have never agreed to this and never supported Chandrababu in any of his decisions.
