New Delhi: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend economic incentives to Andhra Pradesh to bail the State out of financial crisis wrought by the bifurcation against the wishes of local people.

YS Jagan called on Modi here on Tuesday along with delegation of YSRCP MPs to represent to the latter of the need for the Centre's support to help Andhra Pradesh bounce back on the path of development, whilst apprising him of slew of innovative administrative and welfare measures being taken up by the YSRCP government in the State.

Highlighting the need to push industrial development in the State, YS Jagan requested Modi to announce tax holiday, exemption on GST, and to provide 100 percent insurance premium reimbursement for a period of 10 years.

The Chief Minister asked Modi to provide the remainder amount of Rs 1,000 crore towards new capital development as the Centre had only released Rs 1,500 crore as against the promised Rs 2,500 crore.

He also drew the attention of the Prime Minister to various outstanding issues pertaining to Polavaram, Duggarajapatnam Port, Steel Plant in Kurnool and other promises made by the Centre as a pre-condition to the bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
