10 Lakhs Found At Nayarana School in Nellore

Nellore: Police officials seized Rs 10 lakh cash from the premises of Narayana School in Fatekhanpeta , in Nellore district. Based on a tip-off, a special election squad conducted searches in the school premises and found the cash in the Principal's room. The money was kept in the children's school bags and also rolled in plastic bags. The officials also discovered election campaign related material like pamphlets, which bore the picture of Minister P Narayana, the local TDP candidate who is contesting from the Nellore Assembly seat.

YSR Congress party (YSRCP) leaders had earlier alleged that the TDP was using the Narayana's educational institutions' network to transport cash meant to appease voters. With the seizure of cash and campaign material, analysts say that role of the Narayana institutions' comes under cloud and should be taken note of by the Election Commission.
