Senior YSR congress Party leader and Rajya Sabha Member V Vijayasai Reddy addressed the media outside the premises of the Central Election Commission in Delhi. He said that a YSRCP delegation comprising himself, former Ongole MP YV Subba Reddy and senior party leaders Botsa Satyanrayana and Umareddy Venkateswarulu met the full bench of the Election Commission on Thursday morning and apprised it of the abuse of authority by the Chandrababu Naidu government. He stated that the YSRCP delegation had brought to the notice of the Election Commission how Chandrababu fielded a stooge in the form of KA Paul, whose party has identical colors to that of YSRCP with helicopter as its symbol which also bears a strong resemblance to the YSRCP election symbol of fan.

Further, Paul fielded several candidates with the same name as those of YSRCP candidates with the intention of confusing voters and all these facts were brought to the notice of the election commission, he pointed out.

Vijayasaireddy made a sensational allegation that AP DGP RP Thakur had transported Rs 35 crores in his official vehicle from Amaravati to Prakasam district. If the DGP had the guts to disprove him, he could file a case against him, Vijayasaireddy dared the DGP.

Vijaysai Reddy observed that the Intelligence wing was an integral part of the police department and could not be separated from it. He remarked that Chandrababu Naidu was attempting to do this because he had no faith in soverign India and constitutional bodies. His defiance of the election commission reflects his authoritarian behaviour, the senior Rajya sabha member asserted. Chandrababu Naidu had created a constitutional crisis, but he was certain that justice would be prevail when the court gives its verdict in this matter, he said.

Vijayasai Reddy elaborated on other examples of abuse of authority by Chandrababu Naidu including the controversial GO brought out by the AP CM with regard to the DG of Intelligence. The YSRCP delegation also sought the shifting of DGP Thakur and asked the EC to keep him away from poll duties.

The senior YSRCP leader said that many requests made by them were ignored by the DGP and they were not very satisfied with the EC's decision. DGP Thakur had behaved as a TDP functionary during the Nandyal bye-elections, and there were other officials whose pro-TDP tilt was evident. Therefore, the YSRCP delegation sought action against retired police officials including Damodar Naidu, Gattamaneni Srinivas and Yoganand. The YSRCP team also appealed to the EC to initiate immediate action to keep other officials away from Election duties including the collector of Prakasam district, the SP of Chittoor and the rural SP of Guntur district.
