Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party General Secretary and senior leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy welcomed the transfer of top rung officials in the police department. He demanded the transfer of the AP DGP RP Thakur, as well. The senior YSRCP leader was speaking to the media at the party head office at Hyderabad, on Wednesday.

Ramakrishna Reddy wondered why Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders are objecting to the decision of Election Commission of India. He pointed out that misuse of power has reached an all-time high under the TDP as they are using the intelligence system for individual benefits.

He demanded that AP DGP RP Thakur, who is backing the ruling side should be transferred and YSRCP is going to meet EC over the same. The senior YSRCP leader pointed out that the intelligence department is collecting the information of individuals, who are questioning the government. AB Venkateswara Rao who as Intelligence chief has been supporting Chandrababu’s misdeeds has been shifted from their positions, after the complaint filed by YSRCP along with two other police officials.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy observed that the intelligence chief played a key role in the defection of YSRCP MLAs to the TDP. He revealed that YSRCP leaders phones are being tapped and 20 hackers have been appointed for this. AB Venkateswara Rao had been to foreign countries to acquire special technology to tap phones of Opposition leaders. He questioned TDP leaders as to why they were objecting to the transfer of the Intelligence chief when he has little to do with the elections.

A petition on phone tapping with the High Court

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy filed a lunch motion in the High Court against 13 parties including Union government, state government, DGP, intelligence DG AB Venkateswara Rao, counterintelligence SP Bhaskar Bhushan, Central and state Election Commissions that they are tapping the mobile phones of YSRCP leaders along with the Leader of Opposition Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He submitted some of the critical evidence in the case to the Court.

Meanwhile, the AP government had first relived the three officials transferred by the Election Commission, objecting the decision of EC, and Chandrababu Naidu wrote a seven-page letter to the Union government on the matter. However, defying EC directives, the Chandrababu government issued fresh orders exempting the Intelligence chief AB Venkateswara Rao, claiming that the Intelligence wing lay outside the jurisdiction of the Union government.
