Amaravati: Giddi Eswari, the turncoat MLA who left the YSR Congress party and joined the ruling TDP, made some interesting comments on the Pasupu- Kunkuma program, the so-called prestigious scheme started by the Andhra Pradesh government.

The defector-MLA said Chandrababu is distributing cheques, but the bank officials are not granting any money to the beneficiaries. Eswari remarked that the money pertaining to the previous cheques has not been issued and demanded that the government take action so that the women receive the money from the bankers.

Truth about the Pasupu- Kunkuma Shceme:

Minister of social welfare Paritala Sunitha in a written response to a question, made a statement in the assembly that the loans given to DWCRA women have not been waived.

Many women from these self-help groups have not paid the interest believing in Chandrababu’s poll promises. However, the interest piled up onto the current loans and they are being marked as defaulters. Names of the women are being displayed on notice boards in Panchayati Raj offices and banks. Some of them even received court notices, while others have been harassed by officials to repay the loans.

It is incidents like these that prove that Chandrababu Naidu is only concerned about the votes not the welfare of the people. He has not fulfilled even one of the 600 assurances promised before the 2014 polls.
