TDP Seeks Political Gains, YSRCP Works For AP Interests: Botsa

Hyderabad: Official spokesman of the YSR Congress party Botsa Satyanarayana said that the interests of Andhra Pradesh were paramount for the YSRCP and there would be no compromise on this matter. He clarified that the YSRCP would go it alone in the upcoming elections in AP.

Addressing the media at the party headquarters here, he said that the TDP was indulging in false propaganda for selfish and short-term political gains saying that the YSRCP had a secret pact with the BJP.

It was also working overtime making baseless allegations that the YSRCP had invited Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for campaigning in AP.

The ruling party in AP was desperately trying to put out a fake narrative with ministers saying that the YSRCP had invited the AIMIM to campaign for it. Botsa asked the people of AP not to be misled by the false propaganda of the TDP.

He also clarified that his party sought harmonious relations between the two Telugu states. AP should compete with Telangana when it comes to development.

The senior YSRCP leader pointed out that his party had always been clear in its stand that its focus should be on Andhra Pradesh. Hence, it did not take part in the Telangana polls.

Botsa described as comical, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's claims that he played a key role in BJP's defeat the three northern states in the recent assembly elections. Chandrababu did not even campaign in the states where he claims he was instrumental for the BJP's loss and he became the laughing stock of people through his tall claims.

For someone who lacked political integrity and morality, it was strange to see Chandrababu preaching about morals and ethics, especially since he indulged in more political opportunism than anyone else.

The official spokesman of YSRCP observed that Chandrababu Naidu tried to forge an alliance with TRS when he broached the topic with KTR at the time of Nandamuri Harikrishna's death.

Is this not true, he questioned? Why is he now trying to portray the image that the TRS was opposed to Special Category Status to AP, he asked. He also recalled that Chandrababu had attended the Chandiyagam performed by KCR in 2017 and that KCR, had similarly, attended minister Paritala Sunitha's son's marriage.

Are these not facts, he asked. Botsa said that if only the TRS government had acted firmly in the Note for Vote case, the situation would have been vastly different.

The senior YSRCP leader also condemned Lagadapati Rajagopal's dramas in the name of 'surveys'. He carried out these surveys only because he had taken a bad hit economically and was trying to seek Chandrababu's help to tide over his financial problems.

Together they plotted the conspiracy of this survey to confuse voters, whose wisdom they underestimated, he pointed out.

Botsa also clarified that AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had of his own accord declared that he would campaign for the YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh. He added that the YSRCP had no role in this.

Botsa also clarified that Asaduddin Owaisi was close to Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy who ensured 4% reservations for Muslims, as also to his son and YSR Congress party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
