Hyderabad: Senior leader of the YSR Congress party (YSRCP) and former MP YV Subba Reddy criticised Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for his comments over saving the democracy. Chandrababu, who gave ministerial berths in his cabinet to the MLAs who defected from other parties, is talking of democracy, he added.

Speaking to media here at the party's central office, he said that Chandrababu was joining hands with the Congress, which was responsible for the loss of democratic spirit in the country. Adding that Chandrababu was once again trying to fool the public, he remarked that the TDP chief was touring Delhi to divert the attack on Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Chandrababu tried to play down the murderous attack on YS Jagan, he said.

"Never in the history of TDP has it won an election independently. Chandrababu is forging an alliance with the Congress, which did immense loss to the State, in need for achieving political ambitions," he explained.

The former MP recalled that it was late chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy who inaugurated the Veligonda project in Prakasam district in 2006. Chandrababu is ready to face the music from the people of the district after failing to deliver on his election promises, he added.

YV Subba Reddy further said that the YSRCP, after assuming power in the next elections, would provide irrigation and drinking water across Prakasam district after completing the Veligonda project. Chandrababu mortgaged the TDP, which was formed by late leader NTR, in Delhi by allying with the Congress, he remarked.
