Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu expressed surprise over Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu's statement over Central government's affidavit in Supreme Court. He questioned whether Chandrababu had not compromised Special Category Status (SCS) to state for Special Package.

Talking to media here today, Ambati said it is known that Telangana Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, pleaded for clarity on issues concerning all commitments under the A.P. Reorganisation Act (APRA). The Central government filed a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court on Wednesday expressing its inability to give SCS, he said.

The YSRCP spokesperson said while the BJP was cheating the state, Chandrababu had encouraged them. There was nothing new or surprising in the affidavit. After consultations with AP CM, union finance minister Arun Jailtey filed the affidavit. He remarked that Chandrababu felicitated the union minister when Special Package was announced.

Ambati recalled Chandrababu's campaign across the state mentioning that Special package was much better than SCS. He asked why was the AP CM quiet when BJP was taking everyone for a ride. It was no use making an issue out of the affidavit now, he observed.

He further said that Prime Minister Modi and Chandrababu were equally responsible for not according SCS to AP. Both of them have cheated the state. In the fourth year, Chandrababu was not able to complete the construction of flyover near Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada. How would one expect the TDP chief to develop a capital city, he added.
