Telangana: Will Allu Arjun Receive 'Gaddar Movie Award' for Pushpa-2?

The Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) Chairman Dil Raju revealed that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy approved the idea of giving Gaddar movie awards to Tollywood films and film personalities this year. Dil Raju confirmed that the government will issue an official notification soon on this. The Gaddar Awards will replace the Nandi Awards, which were presented in united Andhra Pradesh. 

The CM reportedly asked the officials to make grand arrangements for the awards and that it should be on par with national-level events. It is being reported that the awards will be presented not just for feature films, but also for children's films, and Telugu books. 

The Telangana government last year had decided to honor the late balladeer, Gaddar for his contributions to art, by announcing the Gaddar Movie Awards. While Dil Raju is yet to reveal the exact dates of this festival, the inaugural Gaddar movie awards will be planned in a grand and lavish manner. It can also be expected that Revanth Reddy will most likely attend the event which honors renowned Telugu cinema artists and their creations. 

Coming to the inaugural Gaddar movie awards, it will be interesting to see if Tollywood star Allu Arjun receives the best actor award this year. The star, who scored a humongous blockbuster with Pushpa-2, has dominated the headlines for creating ultimate stardom that's never been seen before in Telugu cinema. The movie not only amassed record collections but also proved that Allu Arjun is the only actor who can showcase both acting skills and flex stardom at the same time. 

But, it is also important to note that Pushpa-2 and Allu Arjun got flak for the movie. After the unfortunate Sandhya theater incident, the chief minister Revanth Reddy minced no words in bashing the star and the movie in the assembly and he was also serious about the ticket prices that were fixed for the movie. Since then, there has been a directive that's passed on to the producers over unnecessary ticket hikes.

To handle things between the Telugu Film Industry and the government, Dil Raju was appointed the chairman of TFDC and the latest Gaddar awards will be his first time conducting an event under the government. Based on acting merit, there is no doubt in saying that Allu Arjun's performance deserves acknowledgment from the state government. Only time will tell who will bag the Best Actor award in the Gaddar Awards.
