Hyderabad Real Estate Sees Rise in Women Buyers

8 Mar, 2025 12:38 IST

In Hyderabad, women are increasingly becoming a driving force in the real estate market. In 2024, 1.29 lakh residential transactions were registered by women, marking a 14% rise from the previous year.

This trend is not only evident in Hyderabad but is also gaining momentum in cities like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Bengaluru, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. Female homebuyers in these cities are benefiting from financial independence, government incentives, and easier access to home loans.

While male buyers saw an 11% increase in transactions, the growth rate for female buyers was higher at 14%. Interestingly, joint ownership transactions (male + female) declined by 7%.

Benefits for Women Homebuyers:

Stamp Duty Concessions: Up to 3% reduction in several states, including Telangana and other cities. Lower Home Loan Interest Rates: Banks offer a 0.05% lower rate for women applicants. Tax Benefits: Women can claim deductions of up to Rs 2 lakh on home loan interest under Sections 80C and 80EE. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY): Requires at least one woman to be registered as the property owner, ensuring financial security. Empowerment through Digital Tools: Platforms like mortgage calculators and fintech solutions allow women to make informed property decisions.

Experts attribute this shift to the rising workforce participation of women, supportive government policies, and digital tools making the home-buying process more accessible in major cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.
