Fire officer arrested in bribe case

A Fire Station Officer was today arrested from East Godavari district by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 7500 for returning an official favour.

Ch Chandra Sekhar Rao, stationed at Mummidivaram, was caught red-handed by the agency sleuths when he was accepting Rs 7500 in cash from the complainant, an ACB release said. Rao will be produced in the special ACB court in Vijaywada later in the day, it said.
