Advocate Harasses Woman Judge, Posts Pictures on Social Media

Hyderabad: An advocate identified as P. Mahesh was arrested by Cyberabad Crime police on Tuesday for harassing a woman junior civil judge by posting her pictures on Facebook. The accused created a fake Facebook profile of the woman and posted her pictures and her children's pictures.

Police said that Mahesh and the victim worked as junior advocates in 2010. During their stint as junior advocates, the accused developed intimacy with the victim and her children. However, when the advocate wanted to take undue advantage of their friendship, the victim asked Mahesh to stay away from her and her children.

“He continued to pester her to talk to him over phone. When she refused, he decided to take revenge on her and then created a fake Facebook profile on her name in an attempt to defame her by presenting her in bad light,” said Cybercrime ACP S. Jayaram.

The victim approached the police after she was informed by her relatives that someone posted her pictures on social media. Mahesh resides in Ramanthapur, who works as a legal adviser with construction firm North Star Homes in the city.
