100 houses gutted in Kakinada fire

In a devastating fire, at least 100 houses were gutted at Srinivasa Nagar colony in Indrapalem in Kakinada town on Wednesday evening.

According to reports, lakhs of rupees of property was reduced to ashes and over 500 people were rendered homeless. As the fire spread fast, LPG cylinders were blown out.

Five fire engines with more than 30 firmen made efforts to put out the flames. The local people supported the fire tenders to douse the blaze. There was no report of causality, except minor burns. The cause of the fire was not yet known.
