Hyderabad: The president of the Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr K Laxman launched the 'Jana Chaitanya Yatra' (JCY) from Bhongir. The yatra will raise people's awareness on the alleged failures of the state government. The people of the state should give BJP a chance in the upcoming elections to regain the fruits of the formation of state, he appealed to the public in a meeting organised at Bhongir on Saturday. Telangana is well known for the government's "Contractors, Collections and Commissions" policy in the last four years, he added.

There is a dire need for putting an end to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's (KCR) family-rule, Dr Laxman asserted. The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party has turned out to be a home for cheaters and traitors of the separate Telangana movement, he alleged.

People of the state must take notice of the TRS's failure in delivering their election promises such as creation of jobs, KG to PG, double bedrooms etc. "The TRS government should reveal the the accounts of crores of rupees the centre has allocated to the state government," he demanded. The TRS government is banking on the MIM Party to win the upcoming elections, he said.

Laxman offered prayers at the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at the famous temple at Yadadri, early on Saturday morning.

Among scores of party workers, MLA NVVS Prabhakar and other important leaders also participated in the yatra, which is slated to continue until July 6.
