Women's Asia Cup 2022: Indian women faced their first defeat in the Asia Cup in the form of Pakistan. India won their last three matches consecutively, but in the match against Pakistan, India lost by 13 runs. Pakistan's women put on a spirited performance with both bat and ball and defeated India in their 138-run chase. Nida Dar excelled with an unbeaten 56 off 37 balls to help Pakistan to set a decent target against India.

It was a better effort by the Pakistani batters who lost to Thailand on Thursday. Nida made good use of her feet, especially against the spinners. With five fours and a six, she scored 56 runs off 37 balls. Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof also contributed 32 runs. They also had a vital 76-run partnership in 58 balls. Deepti Sharma picked three wickets, Pooja Vastrakar took two, and Renuka Singh took one.

Chasing the target, Sabbhineni Meghana and Smriti Mandhana got India off to a good start before faltering as the innings proceeded. Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana struggled to get underway. Harmanpreet Kaur came to bat at No. 7 and got out for 12 runs. Except for Richa Gosh, no Indian batsmen touched the 20-run mark.

Richa Ghosh sparked the chase with a 13-ball 26, studded with three sixes and a boundary at the death. Richa Ghosh's sixes in the death overs gave India's winning hopes back. However, India's winning chances were collapsed by Saida Iqbal. For Pakistan, Nashra took three wickets and gave 30 runs in four overs. Along with Nashra, Sadia Iqbal and Nida Dar also took two wickets each.
