Messi got his fourth Man of the Match award of the competition during the Croatia match, despite his conviction that 22-year-old Julian Alvarez would have been a more deserved choice. In the game, the Manchester City player scored twice. Messi now has five goals at the World Cup, one more than France's Kylian Mbappe.
