Looks like after a dismal performance of films in 2017, 2018 is turning out to be an amazing year for Tollywood. The first quarter has seen the release of several movies like Agnyaathavaasi, Jai Simha, Bhaagamathie, Tholi Prema, Awe, Rangasthalam, Bharat Ane Nenu, Naa Peru Surya and Mahanati. It is a known fact that a majority of these have become blockbuster hits.

so far this year, five films have emerged as highest grossing films at the foreign box office. Here is the list:

Rangasthalam: Ram Charan's Rangasthalam is the first film to lead the pack of hits among other films. Rangasthalm is the fastest film to join the $3.5 million mark at the overseas box office standing next to Baahubali series. The film has even grossed Rs 200 Cr share worldwide at the box office. Rangasthalam is directed by Sukumar and also stars Samantha, Anasuya and Aadhi in key roles.

Bharat Ane Nenu: Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu is following the footprints of Rangasthalam. Since its opening day, Bharat Ane Nenu is creating waves at the box office and broken all possible records except the records set by Rangasthalam. It is the second film among Top telugu highest grossing films in 2018. The film has touched the $3 million mark and inching towards $3.5 mark which it is expected to reach by this weekend. Bharat Ane Nenu is directed by Koratala Siva and features Kiara Advani, Prakash Raj and Sharath Kumar in lead roles.

Agnyaathavaasi: Power star Pawan Kalyan's film was the first one to release this year. But the film failed miserably at the box office. The film has raked in $2 million mark at the overseas box office but proved to be disaster film of the year. Agnyaathvaasi is directed by Trivikram Srinivas and features Anu Emmanul and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles.

Mahanati: Keerthy Suresh's women-centric film Mahanati is based on the life of yesteryear actress Savitri. The film was released last week but has already officially crossed $1.5 million in less than a week. It is directed by Ashwin Nag which also boasts a stellar cast of Dulquer Salman, Samantha, Rajendra Prasad and Mohan Babu.

Bhaagamathie: This was Anushka's first film after the Baahubali series. The film was released on Republic Day. The film did fantastic business not only at the Indian box office but also overseas. The film raked in a whopping $1.1 million at the overseas box office and got placed among the top five Telugu Movies.
